How to Refill your Foaming Hand Soap Container

October 19, 2017 By: admin

October is in full swing here in Texas and it is FINALLY getting cool outside. So, for Texans that means upper 70s, lower 80s; I’ll take what I can get :).  We have been going for more walks/jogs and taking Bailey (our dog) to the dog park also.

This week’s post is about hand soap. I don’t know about the rest of you but my little household of three, plus Bailey:) goes through a TON of hand soap! Over the years we have tried both kinds; foaming and liquid but I much prefer foaming. I feel like you have to use more liquid to get your hands clean and it takes longer to rinse off. Busy mommies don’t have time to rinse off their hands for an extra 30 seconds! We’ve got stuff to do!

I get tired of buying foaming hand soap refills (they take up too much room) and buying the pre-filled hand soap containers (still take up too much room). I would much rather refill my containers with an item that I already have around the house (save space – save money).

To start, you will need an empty foaming hand soap container and Dawn dish soap. I have tried other dish soaps and I always go back to Dawn because I think it cleans better and you don’t have to use as much. Win-Win. You are going to take your empty container and fill it about a quarter of the way with Dawn. You can even use the “hand renewal” type if you’re feeling fancy.

Add warm water and swish (it’s important to use warm water because it helps to dissolve the soap so it will mix better). DO NOT SHAKE. Just kind of rock the container back and forth to get the water and soap to mix.

No extra containers lying around, no expensive refill containers to buy, easy peasy!

Which hand soap do you prefer? I would love to hear from you!
