Baby L's birthday is right around the corner and part of the prep is to make sure that I've got thank you cards ready to go. I really wanted to do special thank you cards for Baby Boy's first birthday and since he can't write yet I decided to have him "sign" his cards with a hand print! Y'all know how much I love hand and foot print crafts, so this one was a no-brainer!
What Should I Pack in my Pumping Bag?
Like so many of you mamas out there, I had to return to work after I had my son, but I also wanted to continue to provide breast milk for him as well. That meant mastering the art of using a breast pump, figuring out what I needed to transport from work to home every day, and not spilling any milk in the process š Every mommy is different and you will have to figure out which items fit your situation best, but this list will get you started.
The Inevitable Rough Parenting Day
We had a big change in the Casey household this week. I have started working part time and will now be spending more time with Baby L. I also experienced one of those inevitable rough parenting days. It seemed like no matter what I did, Baby L kept getting hurt. No matter what happens, every mom will have an awful day where nothing seems to go right.
Christmas Craft: “Mistletoes”
This week the Casey Clan decided to do another footprint craft. This little memory just needs some cardstock paper, green paint and a red sharpie.
Homemade Baby Food – Avocado Banana Puree
I don't know how it happens every shopping trip, but somehow I always end up with a bunch of tired, uneaten bananas. Am I the only one? I love bananas, Baby L loves bananas, but somehow there are always more than we can eat. Solution? Avocado Banana Puree!!!!
What can I do with my “expired” breast milk besides dump it?
If you are a pumping mommy (like myself) then there will come a time where you will have some breast milk that your little one cannot drink. Either it's been in the freezer too long, it smells off, or (the most common issue in my experience) your care provider has not used the oldest milk first! This is a problem you can only fully appreciate if you are a pumping mommy and therefore joinĀ me in the soul crushing gravity of the situation and possibility of having to waste this liquid gold that you worked so hard to obtain.
The Nursing Mommy’s Guide to Pumping at Work
Nursing your baby is one of those indescribable joys of Motherhood. Unfortunately, a lot of us mommies who want to continue to breastfeed after returning to work have to figure out how to continue to provide that awesome liquid gold!
Homemade Baby Food – Strawberry Banana Yogurt
This week I was trying to hurry up and make something quick while Baby L was finishing up some leftover vegetable medley with daddy. I had some strawberries, a banana, and yogurt on hand. What does that mean? You guessed it! Strawberry Banana Yogurt (yes I came up with that title all by myself)!

Homemade baby food can last for up to 3 months in the freezer but it's best to try and use within a month. Let thaw in the fridge overnight before serving.
Pumpkin Craft: Spooky Footprint
What a fun time of year! I am not one for haunted houses and being scared (I'm a wimp, I know), but I love the festive spirit, the weather change, and of course, PUMPKINS!
What to do when your breastfed baby bites!
Oh the joys of breastfeeding. The snuggles, the feel good hormones, the precious sounds your little one makes while nursing, the biting... wait, what?! No I guess that one isn't a joy of breastfeeding but unfortunately it is a reality most of us mommies have to deal with at one point or another in our breastfeeding journey.
