Okay, truth time. I have a 2 year old and a baby on the way and I have no idea what I'm doing. Seriously. Every time I think I have this parenting thing down, #momlife decides to throw me a curve ball and put me in my place. I take great pride in the simple fact that I've managed to keep my tiny human alive for 2 years š
You know I debated on even writing this post. Some of you moms are going to hate me but we actually had a pretty easy time getting Liam off of his pacifier. I was expecting such a long drawn out period of struggling on both of our parts that I was pleasantly surprised when it actually went pretty smoothly. I know that this can be a big challenge for some parents, so I wanted to share with you what worked for us and what methods have worked well for others.
Dealing with a teething baby or toddler can be the worst! Your precious little one is in pain and there is not a whole lot you can do for them besides letting nature take it's course. With that being said, there are a few things that you can do to help your kiddo be a little bit more comfortable.
One of the worst things about this wonderful job as a mommy is witnessing our children getting hurt and then having to make the decision on what to do! Do you give the boo-boo a kiss and put an imaginary band-aid on it? Do you call your pediatrician and go to the next available opening? Do you drop everything and rush to the ER in your sweatpants and un-brushed hair? Unfortunately, all I can tell you is that when the time comes your instincts will kick in and you will know. And if you are ever unsure, err on the side of caution and take your little one to be seen. It will put your mind at ease (trust me).
This past week has been a very eventful one for the Casey Clan! We had our first trip to the ER with Baby L and it was interesting to say the least. To lighten things up, we decided to do our annual holiday footprint craft.
Being a first time parent is such an exciting time! It is also confusing, stressful, and overwhelming. I am an avid planner, researcher, and organizer; but the first time my husband and I went into a baby store, I was so overwhelmed I had to sit down in the rocker section to calm down. There were so many sections in that store! What did I actually need for my baby?
Before I was a stay at home mom full time, I always wondered, "What the heck do moms do with their kids for 10-12 hours each day?!" So I started scouring Pinterest for some fun activities that I can do with my toddler and came up with these three of my own:
Once your precious little one gets close to 6 months in age or so, they may be exhibiting signs of being ready to incorporate some solids into their diet. Such a fun time!
Your little one is about to turn one and you are probably planning a party and possibly getting some pictures done; then you remember that you need to buy a present also! Don't stress about it too much (like I did), your little one is probably not going to care one way or another. Just make sure you wrap it with extra tissue paper (that's the real gift to them)!
Your little one is about to turn 1! If you're anything like me, you are probably thinking, "How did this happen, he was just born a few week ago?!" That's how I feel anyway. We just celebrated Baby L's first birthday and it was a roller coaster of emotions. I still can't believe it! Have I said that already?
